Custom Crate for a Fragile Indian Headdress

This crate was an interesting build. The owner of the wall decoration had to be there when we built the crate and put the piece inside. He would not allow us to touch it except for the bottom of the center piece.

After building the frame, we placed a 1” thick piece of corrugated packing material on the bottom. The customer placed the decoration into a circular cut out in the center of the corrugated. He then, carefully, went all around to make sure all the feathers and hair were safely inside the crate. On the inside of the top frame we built a 10”x10” small box that, once placed, applied gentle pressure on the leather center piece to keep it all in position.

After attaching to a custom built pallet, it shipped by UPS freight to Pennsylvania. We were glad to hear it arrived in perfect condition and was presented during a Native American ceremony.
